Kitchen Cabinets No Frame

When slab doors are chosen for frameless cabinets the seamless look is complete.
A face frame base kitchen cabinet carcass is ideal for both new and remodeled kitchen plans. The edge of the carcass is laminated with edge banding concealing the edge of the cabinet. Frameless cabinets with the edges of doors and drawers butted nearly flush provide an elegant sleek look in a kitchen a look that is impossible to achieve with framed cabinets where frames are always visible. Any woodworker with intermediate to advanced skill level can tackle this diy project.
I go over the materials and tools i use to make them and go into detail on the construction. The doors are fitted directly to the carcass of the cabinet. Open shelving is possible. As there is no frame they cost less and take much less time to build.
Frameless kitchen cabinets consist of a plywood particleboard or chipboard carcass. The face frame cabinets have a hardwood frame that is attached to the sides top and bottom and overhangs each side 1 4 in. So instead i applied birch edge banding on the front edges of my cabinet pieces. Frameless cabinets attach to each other directly through the cabinet side panels.

Framed cabinets attach the door hinges to the frame face and shelves and are usually but not always adjustable. This goes on the front side of each side panel piece the front side of the bottom and top panel and the front side of one of the three thin strips for your base cabinet in step 2. High quality easy to set up. Since these are frameless diy kitchen cabinets there won t be a frame on front to cover the plywood edges.
This shallow anchoring into adjacent cabinetry may increase the number of screw locations required in order to attach the cabinets securely.
