You can build a 2 4 base to set the slightly shorter base cabinet on top of and then cover the front of the 2 4 base with wood.

Building this unit requires just over half of a standard 4x8 sheet of sanded pine or birch plywood a 23 1 4 inch by 30 3 4 inch piece of 1 4 inch thick plywood for the cabinet back to give the unit structural integrity and a piece of 1x6 cut to 23 1 4 inches in length for the false drawer front. Then cut 4 panels out of 1 by 6 lumber for the base panels and top bracers and cut 4 more panels for the face of the cabinet. The backs are 1 4 6mm plywood.
So we applied glue along back edges and then tacked the back on with 3 4 finish nails. Factory drone slave work ha.
