Take off the cove molding along the soffit with a pry bar. When you want to remove kitchen cabinets the easiest thing to start with is the doors and the drawers. You ll need to rent a six yard dumpster for the disposal of a standard sized kitchen. Unscrew the cabinet unit from the soffit and remove the cabinets.
Molding trim if you aren t trying to save the molding you can use a hammer to wedge a pry bar beneath the trim and then pull it away from the cabinetry. Remove the trim disassemble the cabinets and disconnect them from the walls one at a time. Are the cabinets attached to other cabinets or are they free standing. Just be very gentle pulling them away.
Once you start feeling the cabinet move you will know you are moving in the right direction. If they re attached and you are not removing the countertop even if you get the cabinets out without damaging them the new floor may make reinstalling them under the counters difficult as in cutting or planing them down to fit. Try to remove the screws evenly holding the cabinet with one hand or having another person do this while working the cordless drill. You can also use a drill which is much faster.

Leave the hinges attached to the doors and save the screws in a coffee can or similar container. You can try gently prying the from the wall with a heavy blade putty or drywall knife from the bottom and slowly pull them away from the wall. As you pry them and the gap gets wider you can use a long flat pry bar to pry them as you go higher. Use a screwdriver to remove the mounting hinges from the cabinet.
